A clinical ethics grand rounds provides a forum for healthcare professionals to learn about and discuss complex ethical dilemmas encountered in patient care, helping them navigate moral decisions by exploring topics like informed consent, end-of-life care, patient confidentiality, resource allocation, and the application of ethical principles like beneficence, nonmaleficence, autonomy, and justice; essentially serving as an educational tool to improve ethical decision-making in clinical practice.


AMA PRA Category 1 Credits™ (1.00 hours), Non-Physician Attendance Certificate (1.00 hours)

1. Describe the policies, and optimal process for handling end-of life issues such as DNR
2. Describe the problem of requests for non-beneficial treatment and strategies for appropriately responding to those requests
3. Describe the process and situations for requesting clinical ethics consultation; Describe the appropriate use and limitations of using Baker Act and Medical Incapacity Hold; Describe the process and strategies of appropriately approaching and resolving ethical problems in the clinical setting.
