Introduction to Population Health Research Study Designs

Population Health Research and implementation science are central to designing and interpreting studies that aim to understand and improve healthcare delivery. This course will introduce learners to several critical study design options that can be applied to quality and patient safety. The course emphasizes the role of population health research and implementation science in accelerating the translation of research findings into clinical applications, ultimately aiming to enhance patient outcomes and healthcare quality.

1. Define key terms and concepts related to population health research
2. Recognize common population health research designs
3. Identify appropriate study designs for different stages of population health research and demonstrate how to apply these designs to real-world scenarios to address specific health problems
