Building Bridges: AYA Oncology and Oncofertility Symposium

Saturday, March 7, 2026, 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM, Harrell Medical Education Building, Gainesville, FL

The target audience will be healthcare professionals who treat adolescent and young adult (AYA) cancer patients/survivors. The speakers will cover issues related to oncology care and fertility preservation. It will include research being done to optimize care in both of these areas. The conference will provide AMA Category 1 PRA credit. The conference will describe scientific advances in oncofertility and AYA oncology. It will bring attention to the reproductive risks of cancer therapies and options to help survivors build families. It will highlight best practices in AYA oncology from the provider and patient perspective. There will be credits for other non physician providers including nurses, APP, social workers, and the remainder of the oncology care teams.

1. To provide a framework for patient centered care and the importance of working in interdisciplinary teams.
2. To highlight the close relationship needed between AYA cancer providers and fertility preservation services that can help bridge a gap for optimal oncology care.
3. To review the important issues to consider in adolescent in young adult cancer survivors.
4. To highlight and communicate the special characteristics and treatment options needed for the adolescent and young adult cancer population.
5. To understand the population that would benefit from fertility preservation services and the potential options for fertility preservation.
