Overview
This is the sixth annual symposium of the Florida Chapter of the Society of Critical Care Medicine (SCCM) that will offer 8 credit hours and is intended for healthcare professionals currently practicing in the intensive care unit. The program will be delivered in 1-hour segments over the course of 2 days and will include on updates in ICU sedation management, mobilizing critically ill patients and management of ventilator weaning/Trach care. Topics highlighting various organ systems encountered in the critically ill population including status epilepticus management, managing thrombocytopenia in the ICU and troubleshooting CRRT in the setting of AKI. The program will be held in Tampa, Florida. The presenters are critical care practitioners from Florida and members of SCCM organization.

Objectives
At the conclusion of this activity, learners will be able to:

  1. Discuss causes, diagnosis and management of thrombocytopenia in the critically ill
  2. Review role of ECMO and additional therapies in the management of toxicologic emergencies
  3. Present updated guidance on the management of status epilepticus
  4. Evaluate strategies for early mobilization and rehabilitation services in patients with mechanical circulatory support
  5. Define strategies for troubleshooting and managing CRRT machine complications
