ENT skills for Non-ENTs

This is a live course that will be composed of five rotating sessions for groups of 4-5 participants. Each session will address a specific topic in ear, nose, and throat disorders. The instructors will demonstrate hands-on physical exam techniques, utilize clinical cases to illustrate diagnostic algorithms, asks participants to describe the difficulty in their previous experiences, and allow small group discussion. There will be a pre and post course questionnaire to evaluate participant self-reported knowledge and competency. Multimedia instructions will utilize videos to demonstrate abnormal exam findings.


AMA PRA Category 1 Credits™ (5.00 hours), Non-Physician Attendance Certificate (5.00 hours)

1. Assess common ear, nose and throat disorders with improved accuracy by using advanced physical exam skills.
2. Gain knowledge of common medical treatments and new technologies available for ENT disorders.
3. Improve the efficiency of referral to ENT by effectively communicating specific concerns and ordering selective diagnostic tests.

The University of Florida College of Medicine is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME) to provide continuing medical education for physicians.

 

Credit Designation

The University of Florida College of Medicine designates this Live Activity for a maximum of 5.00 AMA PRA Category 1 Credits™. Physicians should claim only the credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity.
