Overview

Patient and Partner Engagement for Quality Improvement and Implementation Science focuses on approaches that improve the meaningfulness, usefulness, and rigor of health research by engaging individuals and communities who have an important stake in decisions about health care operations. Stakeholders can include providers, patients, community groups and leaders, health system leaders, and others whose contributions are essential for the successful improvement and implementation of interventions.

The course covers the foundations of quality improvement, implementation science, and stakeholder engagement. It also describes approaches and methods that are effective for forming partnerships and incorporating stakeholder input into all phases of the research process, illustrated using case studies from work conducted by the instructors.
