Lean Six Sigma Yellow Belt Application in Healthcare

The program is a 24-hour course that includes training of Lean Six Sigma by focusing on the DMAIC methodology and tools used in quality improvement in the deployment of a practical project within healthcare organizations. The program is currently administered virtually and in-person utilizing educational tools. The presenters are all staff of the Hospital or UFJPI. The course will be held once per quarter with the same content during each course. The curriculum delivers patient safety and quality improvement.

1. Explain the foundational principles of Lean and Six Sigma.
2. Apply basic continuous improvement tools to workplace challenges.
3. Identify and define performance improvement opportunities.
4. Analyze root causes and implement appropriate improvements.
5. Develop and use performance improvement plans to monitor progress and sustain results.

The University of Florida College of Medicine is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME) to provide continuing medical education for physicians.
