Medicine Grand Rounds Online - 12/04/25 - Intimate Partner Violence: Update and best Practices 2025 (Domestic Violence)

An educational event aimed at meeting the needs of faculty, housestaff, and non-physicians. Serves as the major source of up-to-date information regarding medicine outside the faculty's area of expertise. Also, the primary source for medical knowledge of a broad interest for the internist. It is the major educational activity accruing CME hours both of a general nature as well as state-mandated CME. Topics consist of information in medical science, therapeutic advances and current cases in the hospital.

AMA PRA Category 1 Credits™ (1.00 hours), ABS CC (1.00 hours), Non-Physician Attendance Certificate (1.00 hours)

1. Discuss the importance of identification of IPV for patient health and safety.
2. Explain awareness of IPV stats and definitions.
3. Recognize the importance and best practices of screening.
4. Review the rudiments of safety planning for families.
5. Review the local referral techniques.

The University of Florida College of Medicine is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME) to provide continuing medical education for physicians.

 

Credit Designation

Successful completion of this CME activity, enables the learner to earn credit toward the CME requirements of the American Board of Surgery’s Continuous Certification program. It is the CME activity provider's responsibility to submit learner completion information to ACCME for the purpose of granting ABS credit.
