Psychiatry Grand Rounds Online - 2/28/25 - Catatonia or Psychosis: Recognizing and Treating the Many Faces of Psychiatric Illness

This is a new version of the Department of Psychiatry Grand Rounds Program, which will be combined with Addiction Medicine Conferences beginning in 2025. Each presentation will be for 1 credit hour, and the intended audience is Primary Care Physicians, Specialty Physicians, Physician Assistants, Psychiatry Fellows and Residents, LCSW, LMHC, and LMFT. The program will be in 1-hour segments and will include presentations on Addiction Medicine, Psychiatric Research Seminars, Psychiatric Case Conferences, and other traditional Psychiatric Grand Rounds topics. The program is to be held on the UF Health campus and does not have commercial support. The presenters are faculty in the COM and community. 

1. Review a complex clinical case and complete a case formulation
2. Integrate recent evidence-based medical data into understanding the psychopathology
3. Apply knowledge to identify & manage uncommon conditions at the interface of psychiatry & medicine
4. Analyze process of care coordination within & across healthcare delivery systems to optimize patient outcomes
5. Appraise & integrate diverse recommendations
6. Incorporate new knowledge into understanding the case
7. Describe how components of a complex health care system are interrelated & how this impacts patient care

The University of Florida College of Medicine is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME) to provide continuing medical education for physicians.

Credit Designation

The University of Florida College of Medicine designates this Enduring Material for a maximum of 1.00 AMA PRA Category 1 Credit™. Physicians should claim only the credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity.
